The Art of Breathing

2-part workshop: Sundays, March 24th & April 7th from 12:00-1:15pm

Attend one session for $20, or both for $35 | with Megan Prenty

This two-part pranayama workshop explores the art of breathing. Understand the anatomy of breathing, enjoy a short movement practice to open the body and learn three different breathing practices per session. The first class will explore the basics of belly-based pranayama, and the second class will build on that foundation. If you are already familiar with the basics, you are welcome to just attend the second class (& vice versa, if you’d rather just come to the first class.)

Class 1 will include Belly Breathing, Three-part Yogic Breath and Square Breathing

Class 2 will focus on Nadi Shodhana, Ujjayi, Brahmari and Kapalabhati.

Megan Prenty demonstrating Nadi Shodhana

Every day we take 20,000 breaths that oxygenate our blood and support internal healing and repair. Proper breathing helps to reduce muscle pain, improve sleep and assist immune function as well as increase feelings of relaxation and mental calmness. Don't be intimidated by the Sanskrit names. Anyone is welcome.
